Art direction, design and development of the Nile Project brand identity system and style guide. With a strong background in music and familiarity with cultures along the Nile, I was invited to join the team at Wolff Olins alongside Nile Project founders Mina Girgis and Meklit Hadero.
After an exciting meet and greet, I hit the ground running with several design directions which evolved into a fully expandable system including a modular palette of symbols, textures, colors, typography, logos and photographic treatments. Wolff Olins worked their brand magic on all of the supplied elements and developed a polished style guide for final delivery.
The Nile Project was founded in August 2011 by Egyptian ethnomusicologist Mina Girgis and Ethiopian-American singer Meklit Hadero to address the Nile basin’s cultural and environmental challenges using an innovative approach that combines music, education and an enterprise platform.
