Magical Egypt is an ongoing series of documentary presentations, discussions, and guided meditations on the magic and mystery of ancient Egypt. (co-hosted with Brooke Gillespie). Through discussions and guided meditations following each screening, participants are encouraged to discover their own inner interpretations and understandings of these ancient symbolic landscapes and archetypes. Slides and visuals are usually prepared for each screening (samples viewed above).

There is another side of Egypt that is not so widely known. Egypt is also the land of secrets. Another history, a secret history, tells of Egypt as the inheritor of deep wisdom and magical ability from an even earlier culture. It is the account of the Egyptians themselves. This alternate history is echoed by parallel accounts from the myth and history of other ancient cultures, as well as myriad secret societies and occult sources. The remarkable number of parallels in these stories provides a unique window into this other Egypt. – John Anthony West

Benefit for the Recovery in Japan is a compilation album dedicated to the victims and survivors, their families, and the aid workers courageously struggling to deal with the aftermath of the earthquake, resulting tsunami, and nuclear emergency that occurred on March 11th, 2011 in Japan. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this compilation will go directly towards the recovery and relief effort. The album features the contributions of sixty-four artists from around the world and clocks in at nearly five hours of music.

Benefit for the Recovery in Japan is curated by Antiopic’s David Daniell and James Elliott, with invaluable assistance from Regina Greene (Front Porch Productions), Greg Davis, and Bettina Richards (Thrill Jockey). Greg Davis mastered the compilation and Sadek Bazaraa designed the cover art. This release is made possible by the generosity of Thrill Jockey and all of the artists involved.
